Scope note
Long, wide-legged fashion pants that flare outward from the midriff to the floor. Often fashioned from lightweight, breathable materials such as silk or crêpe. Popularized by Coco Chanel in the 1930s. For calf-length fashion pants with wide legs, use "guachos."
